A Typical Day at the Cape
The Property
Cape Runamuck sits on a quiet stretch of Cape Cod with a private path down to the beach. The main house has four bedrooms, two full baths, a big small kitchen, and a back porch that gets the best afternoon light on the Cape. There's an outdoor shower, a fire pit, kayaks, and comfy couches for everyone.
FAQs
Who can come?
Burts, friends of Burts, and friends of friends of Burts. If someone vouches for you, you're in. Cape Runamuck has always been a place where the guest list grows organically and nobody's ever turned away.
What should I bring?
Your own towels, sunscreen, and something to contribute to dinner one night. Everything else — beach chairs, kayaks, games, the good blender — is already here. Love, Live, Laugh.
How do I get there?
The Cape Flyer train from Boston is the most fun way. There's also the Provincetown Ferry if you're coming from the city. Driving works too — just expect traffic on Friday afternoons and plan accordingly.
Are dogs really welcome?
Absolutely. We've had dogs at Cape Runamuck since the beginning. They love the beach, they love the porch, and they always know where the treats are kept.
What if the weather is bad?
Rainy days at the Cape have their own magic. There is a movie theater, fireplace, puzzles, board games, a good collection of paperbacks, and a kitchen that's always open. Some of the best conversations happen on a grey afternoon.
Is there a minimum stay?
We prefer at least a long weekend — it takes a full day just to decompress and settle in. But we're flexible. Come when you can, stay as long as you're able.
